The architecture of Dürig AG is defined by confident structures and bold large-scale forms. Depending on the context, they may appear expressive and striking, integrate calmly and generously into the urban fabric, or stand as powerful solitary figures within the landscape.
Each project is guided by an overarching design concept that always goes beyond mere functionality. All subsequent decisions are rooted in this conceptual approach.

The body of work combines conceptual clarity and expressiveness with generosity and minimalism. The results are distinctive buildings with a strong identity and the creation of striking new places.

Strategy

From the very beginning, competitions have played a pivotal role for Dürig AG. They are not only a foundation for new commissions but also a driving force for the studio’s creative potential on both a national and international level. Beyond the day-to-day project work, competitions provide an opportunity to test innovative and ambitious concepts, to continually reflect on the firm’s own position, and to establish a clear architectural identity.

Dürig AG occupies a distinct niche within contemporary architecture. The practice focuses on public buildings, infrastructure projects, and housing developments that combine heterogeneous programs with challenging urban conditions. Each project is conceived as a bespoke solution, developed through close collaboration between the team, partners, and clients.
